Turn it upside down.

You can take a poem or song that you or someone else wrote, and turn it on its head. It seems like every male singer-songwriter has a kid and goes gaga. They suddenly have drippy songs about being a father. So take that and turn it around. What about someone who didn’t want to be a father, or isn’t terribly happy about it? How would a poem from his perspective sound? Take the death of a loved one, most people are sad. Turn it around. Why might someone be happy? What else can you turn around?
