Rhymes do not have to be perfect.

If you are creating a poem that rhymes, don’t stretch it too hard. Do not warp the poem for the sake of an easy rhyme, or make up a variation on a word so it rhymes with a similar sounding word.

These are, of course, general rules, and do not apply to light verse, especially Nashers.
