Unless you have a reason, avoid singsong.

The trouble with too many poetic recitations is that if the poem is in a rhymed format, the performer will often stress the rhymes. Stressed rhymes may be okay in reading Dr. Seuss to your three-year-old, but in performing before adults stressed rhyme can seem a poorly-dressed crime. One way to help alleviate the tendency is covered in the next tip.
